WHAT WE DO FOR THE ARTS

Vallejo Drive Church fosters classical arts communities for worship ministry and concert performance.  In recent years, it has also begun to encourage worship and performance through contemporary music and instrumentation.  Watch for upcoming opportunities on the church news page to attend a concert or contact the directors to find out how you can become part of their fellowship and ministry.

The Chancel Choir of Vallejo Drive Church plays an integral part of the worship service each week. Comprised of both professional and volunteer singers, this group, under the direction of Brenda Mohr, is part of the rich musical tradition of Vallejo Drive that continues to this day. The choir performs a wide range of music — from sacred contemporary to classical — in a season that runs from September through June. As well as a special Christmas concert each December

The handbell choir brings high energy to the quality music that they perform for our worship as well as the services of other area churches

Children who are interested in developing their vocal skills and learning how to sing in a choir are invited to join the children’s choir.  Thirty-minute rehearsals happen most Saturday’s after worship in the chapel and the choir performs for our sanctuary worship on the third Saturday of each month

The organist is Elisabeth Remboldt whose outstanding musicianship has been blessing worshipers at Vallejo for 20 years. The Casavant pipe organ has more than 4000 pipes and is recognized as the finest instrument of its kind in California

Our two cafés on campus welcome the showcasing of your paintings or sculpture.  Whether you want to loan a piece or two for ongoing display or would like to arrange a special showcase of all your artwork, StillWater and vDrive welcome your contributions to our guests’ experience on Fridays and Saturdays.  Contact Mindy Bielas to arrange a showing.

Our Friday night venue welcomes amateur performers and bands from all music genres.  Our cafés are designed for intimate performances and our chapel and courtyard are set up for large sound concerts.  Spiritual expression comes in many forms and while those forms do not always fit a church environment, they are welcome at Stage Four.  If you would like to perform, contact Mindy Bielas.
